Dear Friends,
God is glorified even in things people never
see. This thought pounded me while standing and gazing into an
aquarium of tropical fish. Just consider the depths of the oceans
that have never been explored by men. God created every creature
and plant that exists not only on the earth but also in the water,
knowing that most and maybe all people would never see His
marvelous creation at the very bottom of the ocean. Why did He do
that? I don’t know for sure but I know all things were created for
Him, for His own glory. Therefore, even the things people never
see bring Him glory.
The Scriptures teach us to let our lights shine
before men so they may see our good works and glorify God. We
understand that. We want men to see that we go to church or do
good works so they will in some way be pointed to God. That is
good if we don’t exclude other clear teaching in the Bible. The
Scriptures also teach us to go into our closets to pray out of
view of the public eye. God is glorified in things people don’t
see also.
If we could peer into the depths of your being
far beneath the surface would we find things that glorify God?
Under the surface, in the places men never see, do you have
integrity, genuine devotion, and personal communion with God? Do
you have a deep desire to delight God? Are your thoughts and
motivations glorifying Him? Are you driven to think and act like
the Bible says because you want to honor Him by doing things His
way?
God sees all! Let’s see to it that He is
glorified by what others see and by what they do not see…and let’s
do it together.
