"From the Pastors Study"
Dear Friends,
At Valley Chapel we are sitting back and
watching as the Lord marvelously provides for His people. We have
seen Him use us for many years in the lives of others. We have
seen Him move the road that went between the Church and the Annex.
We are seeing Him provide in such a way that our Annex, our church
building, our parking and our positioning along Dixie Highway will
all be much improved giving us a better church facility to use as
we fulfill our God-given task of making disciples.
In light of God’s spectacular provision and His
consistent care corporately and individually a question comes to
mind. Why do we fret and worry and think that every thing depends
on our own ingenuity or business sense or our own
self-assertiveness and aggression? For sure we must obediently
fulfill our biblical responsibility in each of life’s endeavors,
but do we really trust God to provide? Do we really believe Jesus’
words “Blessed are the meek; for they shall inherit the earth” or
do we think we must fight for ourselves?
In your own life have you seen God’s consistent
care? Have you seen it even in the times you have messed up
terribly bad? Then why do we struggle so much with meekness?
Meekness according to the Enhanced Strong’s
Lexicon is the “Gentleness or meekness [that] is the opposite to
self-assertiveness and self -interest.”
In light of the blessing of our salvation and
the track record of our God, we of all people have reason to be
meek. Lets each renew our diligence and submission to the Spirit
of God that He might continually produce in us the fruit of
meekness. Lets follow the example of Moses who “...was very meek,
above all the men who were upon the face of the earth.” Numbers
12:3) and our Savior who declared “... I am meek and lowly in
heart...”(Matthew 11:28). Lets each obey the command of the
Apostle Paul to “...follow after... meekness” ( I Timothy 6:11).
Come on! We’ll do it together.
