A Summary of our Doctrine

There is one eternally existent, infinite God. He created all and is holy in nature and character. He is tri-unity revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is sovereign over all of His creation including the affairs of men.

The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the only written revelation of God to us. They are verbally breathed out by God, totally true, completely sufficient, and without error in the original manuscripts.

Man was created by an immediate act of God according to the Scriptures. Man sinned bringing physical and spiritual death. Therefore, all are born with a sin nature and are sinners, naturally separated and unresponsive to the only true living God.

Jesus Christ paid the penalty for sin by shedding his blood in death on the cross as a substitute for all who trust Him. His bloody death is the only grounds for forgiveness of sin.

All who repent, and by faith alone, believe in and receive Jesus Christ alone as Lord and Savior are proclaimed righteous by God, baptized by the Holy Spirit, made new, adopted into God's family, and kept forever in Christ.

Believers are to declare their faith and obedience by immersion baptism. Each should gather regularly in a Bible teaching church to celebrate communion, be equipped by the teaching of the Scriptures, and to spur one another on in love and good works.

The Lord Jesus will come again in the air and believers alive at his coming will be caught up with the risen dead to meet Him in the air and forever be with Him. Seven years later the bodily, visible return of Christ to the earth shall establish His 1000-year kingdom and rule as King of kings and Lord of lords.

The dead of all ages, just and unjust, shall be raised bodily and judged by God. Believers will forever dwell with Christ and unbelievers shall be forever separated to eternal torment in the Lake of Fire.

Our Message

We echo the Bible’s teaching that God is the holy, loving, and perfect judge and we are sinful, needy, and condemned in our natural state. Jesus, promised Messiah, God in the flesh, lived Pulpitwithout sin, died as the only substitute, and rose again as the victor. Each who by faith alone receives Jesus as Lord and Savior will be instantly and permanently forgiven of their sin. Christians are to continually yield their wills to His, as revealed in the Bible, so we can live in a way consistent with what we have become as believers in Christ.

Our Mission

At Valley Chapel we strive for progress in a threefold mission that we see outlined as our vision in the Bible: to glorify God in all we do, to teach others to please God as followers of Christ, and to help one another in the process. We seek to do that while maintaining and growing in our love and devotion to Jesus Christ. We seek success in applying the Scriptures to each and every decision that concerns our life and ministry.

Our Services

Our Church services are conservative in content and atmosphere, centered around the Word of God and His character. Our music includes a choir or special music and congregational singing enhanced by a piano and an organ. The preaching and teaching is designed to clearly explain the content and meaning of the Bible in a way that can be lived out by those desiring to know and live by eternal truth. Our goal is to have purposeful, God focused services that genuinely teach, equip, and encourage people to please and worship God.

Our Missionaries

Valley Chapel supports 14 missionaries. Approximately one third of our budget goes to missions.

Our Fellowship

We recognize the importance of Christian fellowship and seek to have regular opportunities for this to take place in addition to our church services.  Read more about 'Fellowship'...

Our History

In 1866 the first congregation was formed in what is now Valley Chapel. By 1903 attendance had decreased to the point it was closed except for an occasional service or funeral. Some folks in the community decided to purchase the building and start a new Church. In 1919 Valley Chapel Community Church became the first Community Church to be incorporated in the state of Ohio.

In 1966 the Lord opened a way for the Church to purchase the Stockton School. The old school is now called Valley Chapel Annex and is used as a fellowship hall, kitchen, and for children's ministry since it has a gym in the top floor.

Since then, God has allowed for Ross Road to go around the Church and annex rather than between them. More recently He has provided a new wing and space for an extra parking lot. This is in addition to a remodeled sanctuary. We have certainly seen God's blessing at Valley Chapel.
